Late at night I still hear them whales sing. Their echoes find their way to me from the deep. I hum along in bed as I try to sleep. I sing along to this nameless terror: perpetual defeat. What am I mourning? Reflections of a dream. A cosmic sense of dread. A phantom limb screaming that it's missing.
Let the day break. Let the night fall. Sing with the song that's in your pulse. Bear witness to this passage of time. Scorched Earth becomes replaced with pine. The void it still screams. In silence it's worse. Kindling for flames - these thoughts nothing more than crackling wood in the hearth.
Crack open another in the belly of Leviathan. Despite my misgivings, I've learned to love this prison. At the edge of doom, we'll be tallying up all our papers. As they lower your casket, say one last prayer to our masters.
