The flowers bloomed and then decayed. I found new ways to pass the time. Cats sleep longer hours when they're removed from the wild. It became clear to me today, something purposeful arrives.

(Chorus) Our wings catch fire. We can't resist the siren song of the burning wick. It all stagnates before the change. Welcome the passing. Dance in flames. We were happy. The clock ticked. We were gone. Nothing persists.

Before the constellations lost certain stars the vastness used to swallow up my thoughts. Absent-minded now, I hum along with some tune that I have long forgot. Towering sentinels, as big as god. Oblique miracles, remembered and then lost. The wind ripples through a sea of emerald moss. Try as I might I can't understand the plot.

I spend all my waking hours perfecting this absurd monument, commemorating nothing. No one will ever see it.
